Don't know if anyone else had had this problem, but both my rear seats consistently refuse to fold back up to the seat position unassisted. I had the plastic covers of the hinge mechanisms to have a look at what was going on, and this happens if your seat doesn't go all the way down onto the bar.

So if you seat back stops halfway up, use one hand to apply pressure at the bottom of the seat back so that the hinge activates and allows your seat to fold back up.


n.b. unless you have some spare time on your hands, I don't recommend taking the covers off the hinge mechanism unless you have to, as they are a pig to get back on, and you have to bend them beyond the point where you think they will break! .

I find if the seat bases don't sit exactly in place, the backs refuse to latch. Must be a safty thing.

i have to take mine up slowly otherwise the stick and you have to lower and raise again..

Also found that a good slam down on the latch bar for the seat base before lifting the seat back ensures it doesn't refuse halfway up. .

They do have a safety feature that if the base doesn't click in properly, the back won't unfold.

I remember seeing it on one of the Range Rover Experience videos Dan1984 posted on YouTube. Researching my first Range Rover purchase
