Do i need to remove the mud flaps when changing side vents?

I´m going to change the two wing side vents for the three wing.
I´m not at all a DIY guy, but i have seen on the webb how to do it.
Doesn´t look to hard.
My 05 has the mud flaps, do i need to remove them when changing the vents?

I did mine a few weeks ago.. I have mud flaps and side steps. It was easy, there is enough room. I was shocked at how much earth etc was stuck behind the panel, so I was glad to give it a good clean out as well. Previously..
