Will, I think it may be the same stuff that was on the centre dash of a certain Italian 5-cylinder thing - and as I recall people tried every chemical known to man in an unsuccessful attempt to remove that! Hence asking what was used here!

I used metal polish to get the rubber coating off some internal panels. Leave it on for a few minutes to soften the coating then rub, rub and rub again with a soft cloth. Eventually it will come off. Don't use anything abrasive or you will scratch the surface underneath (not too much of a problem if you are going to repaint I guess) No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

i tried a number of things from turps and white spirit, i think it was the light coat of thinners that made it go soft and then a bit of elbow grease and it all came off..spray short light coats to build up a texture finish, to much to quick will give you a heavy finish. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
