I should maybe have put this in the what did you do in your fullfat today, but just in case you were thinking of buying a saloon car (A8, 7 series or S Class no estate versions of these bad boys) i went to my daughters flat in Leeds across the M62 and brought back, an upright vacuum cleaner, an upright floor cleaner, two huge suitcases full of old clothes (not that old) and two huge bags full of old shoes (again not that old). A pasting table and tools, been doing some decorating, SWMBO and I almost forgot a full size tumble drier as well as some smaller bits and bobs.

I used to have an S Class, yes much faster, but i would have had to make two trips (assuming i could have got the drier in at all) and the ride experience on a very windswept M62 was probably better in the RR.

Sure there are luxury cars that have an equal or better driving experience but maybe you need to compare the FFRR with luxury estate cars and I've owned my share of all of them, so why in my retirement did I opt for a FFRR - it's just that bit different, luxurious and capable - that's why.

valid point, i too did a couple of runs to the tip today and was surprised at what i could fit in the range..

after the run i put the parcel shelf back in, put the seats up and now its a luxury vehicle again.

The problem for the A/S8 is that it looks just like an A1 from the front and an A4 from the side, at least in the Land Rover range nothing else looks at all like a FFRR. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
