Starman, can you get Thule roof racks over there? If so have a look at their version for the ffrr, mine was fine.

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter I think they may be available in Sweden, with Thule being a Swedish company Thumbs Up

Edit: Technically now owned by Brink, but I couldn't resist Whistle

Sounds interesting but to use the roof fitments you have to remove the flush factory rails so if crossbars where fitted you would surely have two exposed grooves where the rails should be? Confused

I've never had the front to back rails on either L322 I have owned and have used the cross bars bolted directly into the roof top points, the only this you have to watch is not to force the rear bar into the front mount or the front bar into the rear mounts - the cross bars mount using the front mount and the bolt point above the B pillar. I once watched a dealer principal trying to force the crossbars onto a customer's car and it wasn't nice to see..................
The cross bars you need for this are part no CAB000030PMA from the 2004 accessories brochure which has been superceded by part no VUB502790 and they will NOT fit into the rear mounting point only the front and middle mounts so you don't need the Luggage Rail System at all if you just want cross bars.

These bars are easily removed with a supplied allen key, just never remove the little flaps in the gutter as they are designed to be left in place to close the holes 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I knew I should have a taken a picture of mine before I took them off Rolling Eyes

As Tim has said the two cross bars bolt straight into the slots in the roof and I then bolted the Land Rover Roof Box to the cross bars. Worked perfectly for my recent trip to France, very easy to install and remove - I was sad enough to remove them in France and refit them for the journey back Embarassed

The day after returning I removed them again and the bars and roof box are tucked away in my office until the next time I want them, returning my car to its original state Thumbs Up

I dont like the long roof bar system as when the front to back rails are fitted they need to stay fitted Shocked The only advantage I can see from them is you have greater flexibility as to where the cross bars are located but for me the front two fixings were fine Wink

Ok so now i understand that there are different alternativs for crossbars without needing the roofrails.
But it is not going to work anyway. I mean my roofbox [skibox] is 220cm long, and by using the two cross bars like in this link http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/ImagePopUp.aspx?i=VUB502790 will mean that half the box is kind of "hanging". Like i said before, the crossbars would have been wider between them. And by using the first and last mountingplace will probably be too far between, due to the fixingpositions inside the box.
I think using the two bars like in my link might be fine when using a very short box.
