Bleed nipple threads or carrier bolts?

OK, so. Bear with me Laughing

Nipple Therapy

It's an actual repair kit, with a drill bit, appropriate sized tap and new bleed nipples to drill out and reseal Thumbs Up

@Mikey:

Not seen this before, care to post your source? Bow down

@Pat:

To stop this happening again and next time trashing your calipers:
Take each new bleed nipple, and very carefully wrap each with 3 to 4 turns of PTFE tape, being very careful not to let any stray tape get anywhere near the inner part of the nipple (where the brake fluid is)
This will provide a dielectric barrier between the two dissimilar metals, and prevent the galvanic corrosion from welding the steel nipples to the aluminium caliper body.

I have done this for years, and it just works. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Brake nipple repair search on eBay gives a variety of results including the therapy thing pictured, at 85 quid! Nielsen do a similar looking kit for 24 quid and big red (good supplier) do a kit with helicoils and all the tooling for 15 quid.
