Engine mounts replaced 4.4 tdv8

Just replaced 2 engine mounts on 4.4 tdv8
They were original, so 12 years olf
Also, original new ones

Difference in height between old/new
Old mounts are lower comparing to
1.4 cm left
0.9-1.0 cm right side

Reason for changing engine mounts...
On lower rpm, i feel vibration/resonance on left foot rest (LHD). (1000 till 1300, 1400 rpm)
Somethimes, there is also stronger vibration at idle
On harder acceleration, when changing gears i could feel changing, not so smooth
Also,
2 aluminium pipes from transmission cooler were touching eachother slightly.
When looked below car, left side, so i separated them.
On The top of the engine, coolant pipe that goes from radiator above top of the fan/radiator shroud had marks from below, because it was touching top of the shroud too much.
I believe that was because.engine mounts "sunk" lower than they should be

Test drive tomorrow, so we will see is there any difference.

Not heard of those type of issues before. Interested to hear how the test drive goes. TDV8 4.4 2012

After test drive, the resonance is almost gone. It has only about 1100 rpm. There is slight vibration under the left foot.
The car is less shaking when starting up the car and turning it off. The gear changes are smoother. You can feel the difference with the new engine mount. The car has done 185 000 kilometers, so maybe it was time to get them changed or not. I don't know for sure, but it's a difference. I'm still not sure that vibration under the left foot should be there. Just a little bit. It's only about 1000 to 1100 rpm. So I will check it out if there is some pipe or some bracket that is touching each other. So I will check it out.

I also replaced the two engine mounts on my 4.4 TDV8. I also have the vibrations under the left foot at 1100 rpm. I would also like to replace the rear gearbox mount - but the original is not available.

Hello, i have the same vibration issue on a 3.6 tdv8, more than 230k km on the original, 15 years old engine mounts will book my car in to get this fixed. For the rest if the vibration I recommend to replace the gearbox mount brackets as well, freaking espensive the 4 piece of rubber, but can potentionally solve the remaining vibration issue.

For me the vibrations are the most intensive when the torque converter locks up and the drivetrain gets its full tension.

Hello RRfranz, Pal,

Thanks for reply,

Still have issue..
Resonance between 1000-1100/1150 rpm
When standing, foot on the brake.and presed throttle ,.i can simulate that sound (50%), but it is most present when driving

It is felt between footrest (lhd) and pillar (left corner of the windshield)

Tried to look under bonnet, under car.
I have firmed heatshields, check for.possible loose parts, but still no success to resolve mistery.

I do not know will gerwbox/transmission mounta do any help, since resonance is front located.

In case somenone resolved it , please share it
Thx

I will now try to see and test the engine mounts. Vehicle sztationary, engine on, stand on the brakes, put it into drive and press a bit on the gas to see how much the torque would rotate the engine on the mounts. So take it on the camera to see how the engine moves with the bonnet open while performing above in stationary. The engine mounts are vacum controlled sp it can also be, that a hose is leaking and the mounts are not controlled correctly…

as next, I will have my propshatfts dismantled to start with and have a look around…
