Engine no start no crank high temp gauge

Anyone shed a light strange issue, drove to town today less than 1/2 a mile parked up came back say 15mins later started car cut out,wouldn't start again temp gauge in red, b1c50-24 crank switch code came up ,and nothing when turn of key ,aa recovery guy came out none of the code readers he had would connect to engine ecu please please any help
