My Other Cars

I've just joined the forum and thought I'd share a couple of pics of my other stuff.

The R129 Mercedes is a very early car (1990) with just 27k miles from new. The MCC was my uncle's an then my Dad's, so in the family since 1986. And the 350Z is just a bit of a laugh!!!

I've always liked 129s. I remember toying with the idea of buying a nearly new one years ago, it was £29k at the time. Which was a fortune to me then. I ended up with an S Class for £23k, which broke down constantly. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

R129 is 10 times the better car than the 107 but it's the 107 that carrys the adulation. Probably all those shoulder pads and big hair that goes with them, aaah, Dallas, Victoria Principle, dream on Whistle .

Same phylosophy as RR I guess, the older the model, the more sought after.

I keep looking, but my barn never seems to have a forgotton W198 in it. Keep looking I guess, and watching out for Jonny Smith creeping around the place.

Isn’t it the R129 that has issues with the biodegradable wiring harness?

Can’t remember if it only impacted later models of it but could be a nasty problem.

Only a few years, and most be be fixed by now.

I have a 1997 500 and it is a super car. I am very jealous the green colour, it looks lovely. 2012 Vogue TDV8 in Aintree green over sand

I think it was just a couple of years production that had the ridiculous biodegradable loom. Mine doesn't - which is good.

I love the green of mine - relatively unusual, I think. Its a 300SL-24. Would have preferred a 500 but the history, mileage and condition of this one was too good to pass up.

Found this on my phone the other day, was taken when we attended the sports car day at Blenheim Palace a few years back:

Its a 2002 DB7 Vantage Volante Manual (only about 100 of these around in manual form) have had it 15 years, and its in mint-ish condition.
One of the prettiest cars you will ever come across, barring maybe an E-type (well that's what Clarkson thought), to be fair apart from when those crazy Americans owned Aston in the late 70's I can't think of an Aston that isn't a head turner (for the right reasons)!

That TR6 is lovely.

I remember playing for a cricket team outside London in the early 80’s and 4 of the players owned a TR6. They all worked in The City during ‘the loads of money’ era. I was so jealous, we were only in our early 20s.

A couple of years later and one of them traded it for a TR7. That worked out well Laughing

My best mates Dad had one 35+ years ago and it's still getting good use now. When my mate was 18 he was put on the insurance, had some good passenger rides in it and it was a bit quicker than the Austin Sprite I had at the same time. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
