Suspension message 30 MPH

I am getting the suspension message after approx 10 miles of driving and the car goes into bouncy bouncy mode. It doesn't sag overnight, so I'm assuming it's not the air bags or valve blocks leaking ?

From my initial investigations and in terms of cost, there's the relay, then a compressor service kit, then the air reservoir and possibly corroded wiring to look at.

I have a GAP iid but not sure how to start interrogating the system to find the fault. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jonny

First thing to do is plug in your IID and follow the attached to read any faults, then I always export them via email to myself, then clear the codes and see what happens... Thumbs Up

I had that exact issue last month and the bouncy bouncy ride home was a little disconcerting to say the least Shocked . The problem was traced to a small split in the front airbag when the suspension was raised to full off road height but not obvious at the other lower settings or when parked overnight. Simple test just raise the suspension fully and listen for a slight hiss of escaping air

I recently had exactly the same as in NobbyC's post, I had to lift the car to off road height to hear an air leak. I had to go from normal to off road height several times before I heard the air leak.

Could be as simple as a height sensor.

I had this last week. Tyre place let my car down trapping the arm in the suspension (unbeknown to me). 2 miles into my run home red suspension, 30mph sign and a ride more bouncy than Zebedee's moustache.

Went to see if the sensor had flipped over but the arm had snapped. Change sensor, all good. What is your 4x4 screen showing? Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey.

Thanks Goldstar - it’s in the garage at the moment having a few pulleys and tensioner replaced, but will get them to interrogate the ride height sensors.

Appreciate the heads up as I know it can be an expensive exercise chasing down the issue.

Had the same issue but a different fault with my AMK compressor which I think you have.

I’ve had it twice in my ownership.

The exhaust solenoid on the compressor failed so it couldn’t vent so it blew up and then couldn’t release so it seemed to fill the bags . Changed the solenoid… problem solved for about two years…

Same fault this time not always 30mph sometimes just suspension fault… braved driving a little longer then I just heard the exhaust permanently venting as I was driving and ended stopping as it was on the bump stops… its seemingly failed the otherway this time… turns out the orings had expanded and weren’t sealing! A couple of pounds fix been ok for two weeks nearly fingers crossed Current stable:
