4-wheel alignment questions

I'm going to get one of my tyres looked at to sort out a leak that sees it losing a couple of pounds pressure per week. Whilst I'm at it I thought I'd get the wheel alignment checked to stave off the possibility of any premature wear occurring.

Am I right in thinking that a place using the Hunter 4-wheel alignment system would be the system of choice?

Are there any RR-specific procedures that should be observed when the alignment is done?

Given the sensitivities of the air-suspension I don't want a numpty let loose on my beloved, so are there any questions I might ask in order to ascertain whether they are competent to be let loose on a FFRR? 2006MY 4.2 SC

Any muppet can operate a Hunter, only a savvy muppet knows what he's doing. Best take it to someone who's been recommended and knows the FFRR quirks

A good operator will check and adjust suspension heights to within factory specifications and check tyre pressures before he even connects the Hunter up to the car

had mine done at a kwikfit. when he drove it on the ramp, he had to fold the mirrrors, so, i was standing watching, (i was fascinated) to make sure, he refolded the mirrors when coming off, as they were going to possibly foul the posts.
its very accurate, ...car, is fitted with wheel hanging 'mirror domes', and is pushed forward, then back, and those mirrors, spread laser reflections, and are picked up on a front wall mounted scanner, and printed out, as angles etc. and car did need some small adjustment. and drove better, for the £60 it cost.
my car, had rear bushes changed, just before i got it. so, i figured, it was best thing, to go with new tyres etc.

the guy was young, (and spotty,) but he told me all about the different angles, and benefits etc.
steering wheel was spot on when driving too.

maybe, ask them to check your rear bushes, before it goes on, as they are common to go on these cars, as mileages progress, and kill you tyres. (and mpg..)

Do you need to keep a door open or use the IID Tool to put car into close-tolerance mode? 2006MY 4.2 SC

No, it's not as bad as everyone makes out, it's a very simple system and just the same as most cars for adjustments..

Measure the angles at normal height, raise it to off road and they hardly move at all, usually still within tolerances..

As has been said, far more down to the person who does it than the machine they use...

No need to leave a door open or anything else special... it's just nuts and bolts at the end of the day.... Thumbs Up Pete
