Germany 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Montalcino Red
Shadow Pack

Hello
I have been wanting to do this since just after I brought the car. Well, my local garage had an offer on some of the pieces this winter. So, I am going to replace the Atlas parts with Shadow Atlas. I will take photos before starting and along the way. It will be another week before all of the parts are there (door handles not yet ordered).

I know some of you have done the black pack, therefore I have a couple of questions.

1. How easy is it to remove the front bumper? What time should I allow?
2. How easy to remove the letters and replace them? I am the most worried about this.
3. Grille badge is it easy to move it over?
4. Door Handle small caps: is it 3 of one type and 1 that is different for the key? - I think I have found more about this than the parts guy.
5. Any spare clips I should buy before?

Thanks
Iain

Of course, nothing is easy. When picking some of the parts at the garage, someone in the warehouse had been naughty taking out a Shadow (dark atlas) part and replacing it with another colour, 1 of the door handle and all 4 of the small door handle parts. So waiting another week for them.

Tonight, I thought I would have a go at the tailgate strip. It came off easy but caught on the Licence plate holder. One of the screws came out with no problem; the other didn't.

One of the plugs which you screw into came out.

My question is are they a Land Rover part or just a general part? Also suggestions to replace the sticker which is starting to break? SDV8 AB MY 2020

So the doors are done…

Waiting on parts for the handles. I am not able to dismantle the handles I do have. I will watch the Powerful Uk video again. Has anyone taken handle apart?

The bootlid bar is done. You can see the difference to the letters.

The letter I will do last as I am the most worried about this. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Letters are scary but easy when you know how.

You will need masking tape, lots off it and a sharpie/black marker.

Tape up over the letters and around them -- marking where the letters are on the masking tape. " " type marks under letters. You can simply then remove the template (I found best way was to place a vertical bit of tape on the bonnet and "lift" it out the way to keep the original position)

Then I cleaned the area and grabbed a drill + polish to buff the water marks and stains inevit left by the letters. Once done I wiped the area with isopropyl alcohol and then placed the template down and stuck the letters on

Difficult to explain, have a look on Youtube there are a number of videos showing similar methods (doesn't have to be specific to RR but there are lots!)

On another note - Love the colour of your car and the shadow trim will look awesome. Mine came from factory with the black pack but I did retro fit some bits to the L322

Good luck Smile

Tonight was the turn of the grill.
Before

After

I have 3 or 4 of the Shadow handles dismantled. So when I start on the handles from the car I am ready to go. Hairdryer to weaken the sticky tape is a must, doesn’t need much or for long. SDV8 AB MY 2020
