I'm back in business. Here are my findings, and these are specific to a North American market 2007 full sized SC.
There is no difference between locked and superlocked when locking it with the fob. One button press does it all. No such thing as one press is locked and twice is superlocked, or anything like that. One press of the lock button superlocks all doors, and disables all interior electrical switches used to unlock the doors, and the interior door handles are also disabled. If you are in the vehicle and you press the fob lock button, the only way out is by pulling the emergency release for the rear hatch. The alarm will sound, but the hatch will open. That is your only exit unless the key is put into the ignition switch. You don't have to turn the key, just being in the switch will re-enable the door handles, and a double pull will open the door. So, if there is someone inside and you leave with the fob, don't use the fob to lock it! Let them press the center console button to lock and unlock the doors.
As far as going through the rear lamp opening, that isn't an option. With the plate lamp fixture removed, you will see a sheet metal plate protecting the locking mechanism from you, a would-be thief. You can take a long screwdriver and bend that metal out of the way to expose the rear of the locking mechanism. The silly over engineered thing about it is there is nothing exposed that will allow defeating the mechanism. The cable that is in the rear fold down door is on the inner side of the locking mechanism on the other side of the sheet metal on this car. The tips on reaching up and pulling the cable to release the hatch doesn't apply to this year's model because it's not there. It may have at some point before or after, but not in '07, not on my car.
In the end, I called AAA and after two different people tried, a third guy came out and successfully picked the door lock.
I was moments away from just saying forget it break the window.
