SDV8 4.4 Valve cover gasket

Hi. Our l405 has a huge oil leak from the drivers side rocker cover. The workshop manual is a bit light on detail. Has anyone any experience of this job?
Also, the osf strut brace bolts are spinning in the strut tower. I suspect someone has already has them pick up. Is there any clever fix for this too?
