Excessive rust in lower tailgate cable area on a 2012?

Hey guys, after almost 10 years with my 2007 3.6 TDV8, I started looking at some 2012 4.4 TDV8 cars available in my country.

While several show very excessive wear to leather seats (fairly typical), most show rust in the area of rear fenders (totally typical), there is one that I like that has some weird rust issues.

Apart from typical fender/sill rust as seen here:

There is also this, which I find odd as there is literally zero rust in this area on my much older 2007 car:

I think I’ve read that 2010+ cars seem to rust more easily than earlier ones but is this something to worry about?

Other than that the car seems fine, loaded, comes with 1200W HD audio, 5 cameras, dual view screen, blind spot monitor, all of which my 2007 does not have as well as most other 2012s I have seen so far actually. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

My 2012 322 was much worse for rust than my 2004 one. I got so fed up with it that I traded it in for a 405. The lower tailgate cables can snap due to rust under the rubber sleeves so worth replacing if you see it at the ends. The rear wheel arches, sills, tailgate are all prone to it, as also brake lines and trim pieces. There are numerous threads on the topic which you can find through a search. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Thank you. Yes, as mentioned before, I am fully aware of the sills/fenders/upper tailgate rust issues in these, as well as brake lines.

What is new to me however is how extreme rusting seems to be in the lower tailgate area of this particular car. The body panels to which cables attach to seem to be badly ruste as per pics attached. So I was wondering if anyone experienced this exact problem or possibly even fixed this before. 07 3.6 TDV8 Vogue
