2011 TDV8 4.4 Compressor Rebuild Kit

Hi All,

The last month or so Ive noticed that the compressor on my 2011 4.4 TDV8 is taking longer to come up to pressure.
Most mornings its about 60 to 90 seconds and it will have another go for shorter periods after intermittent stops throughout the day.
The car is not sinking at all overnight and no faults being recorded ATM.
Im keen to service the compressor even if for a bit of preventative maintenance.

Bagpipingandy does not appear to stock this model kit and I await a response from Andy on that.

Keen not to have to pull it out to work out what model it is if I can avoid this.

If anyone has been here before and can point me in the right direction of the correct service kit I would be grateful.

I have bought a kit from https://4x4airseals.com/ great kit and sorted all my issues out has a wide variety of kits available.

Just removing the large black cover you can easily see which model it is and it is possible to service it in situ but I found it just as easy to take it out.

Hope that helps Current

Thanks Tom,

Much appreciated.

Might take a quick look under the cowling before ordering.

Ive taken the cowling off and have taken a photo of what I have seen.
It looks to me like this is blowback from the filter. There is what looks like filter dust around the intake and separately toward the front of the compressor.
This old girl has only travelled 117k so not a great deal of use.
The car is not sagging overnight, it just that I am aware that the compressor is running longer at start up in the morning and after stops during the day.
Before I embark on pulling the compressor apart, has anyone seen this/been here before please?

i had this on my 3.6 58reg it was the seal on the piston that had worn so takes twice as long to get the pressure replaced ....got everything i needed from 4x4airseals ,also replaced the beads as these do break down and turn to dust which gets into the valve blocks Thumbs Up

email Andrew at 4x4, figure out what make and model air compressor you have first

https://4x4airseals.com/product-category/landrover/rangeroverl322

The piston ring fails after a certain period of time - see below

Thanks for the info Gents.

https://4x4airseals.com/product-category/landrover/rangeroverl322 customer service is excellent.

This make and model does not have a replaceable piston seal.

They recommend replacing all the seals, beads and filters once every 12 months for extending the life of the compressor.
