Brake pipe/hose service item

MY2017 SDV8

I seem to remember when I got my car last year finding some info on replacing the flexi hoses as part of the service schedule but I can't find the info again.

Mine will be the 98month/8 year service, currently just under 68k miles. Zero clue if they have been replaced before but I do not want to take the risk with something safety critical like this.

Does anyone know when this should be done and also if you have part numbers this would be useful!

I replaced all 4 flexi hoses when I did my brake service earlier this year. I think they should be changed after 6 years on the schedule, due to the lifespan of the rubber.

The part numbers are:
LR172643 - flexi hose rear LH
LR172644 - flexi hose rear RH
LR079544 - flexi hose front RH
LR079543 - flexi hose front LH

I used Delphi hoses and they come out at around £55 per corner.

Not a big job, easy to swap the hoses and then bleed the system.

Amazing, thank you Alex!

I will hunt for some Delphi ones for sure. Urgently need this doing if it was supposed to be yr6!

I don’t think there is a definitive time period to replace the hoses under the service schedule but they are included for inspection for signs of ageing at 6 years and replace if necessary. For the cost and safety critical nature of this component I take it as replace every 6 years regardless of condition - similar to tyre rubber ageing regardless of miles driven.

Yeah I seem to remember it was an optional (dependant on condition/customer) on one of the services, if that was yr 6 then I am definitely replacing these even if they look fine. Corrosion is one thing, but the rubber may be beyond its useful point by now and no second chances with a 2.4 tonne vehicle with no brakes.

Thanks I will get these ordered up.
