Cant say whether warranty should cover or not but even if they dont that price quoted is obscene. Just a quick Google shows the parts are relatively cheap

I will do it myself if they won't cover it.

As far as the warranty is concerned I am pretty sure that they will always say it was the water ingress first that subsequently caused the cracking but common sense would suggest that it is clearly the other way around. _______________________________________________

Main dealer strapped mine up for a year with cables ties and didn't tell me so it was out of warranty before i realised there was a problem and they failed, then said it was water ingress and duly emptied my wallet. I think you are on a hiding to nothing so get the best price you can. |

You can get aftermarket replacement actuators for less than £20 on eBay. Part no. LR036573 They are the same part as used on some BMW models part no. 34216794618.

As Kev says above, I’ve also replaced these on the driveway using aftermarket parts, it’s not a particularly difficult task. Jonathan

Just make sure to check before buying your parts because some have the square electrical connector and some a rounded one....

Has anyone actually been successful in getting the warranty to cover it ? If you can show the casing failed first then they can't argue it was corrosion ? 2016 AB SDV8 Barolo black |
