United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Santorini Black
[Sold] Range Rover L405 2013 4.4 SDV8 Vogue

Range Rover L405 2013 4.4 SDV8 Vogue.

Santorini Black with black pack [trim, grille, sweeping mirror indicators etc.]. Full 12-months MOT. Reason for sale: replaced by newer model. Been the most reliable Range Rover ever owned. Private plate not included.

Standard features on the model include:
• Engine: 4,367cc V8 diesel
• Transmission: 8-speed automatic, all-wheel drive
• Power (hp): 335@6,000rpm
• Torque (lb ft): 516@1,750-3,500rpm
• 0-62mph: 6.5 secs
• Top speed: 135mph
• MPG (official combined): 29.2
• CO2: 219g/km
• Electric adjustable front seats. Memory driver’s seat with auto recall to each key.
• Heated seats, steering wheel, windscreen
• Meridian audio system.
• Reverse camera
• Air suspension
• Dynamic response active lean control

The good bits:
• The 4.4 SDV8 is the best engine - loads of torque [700Nm], 0-60 in 6.5 secs and still achieves 28mpg for mixed usage and up to 35mpg on a run. Most of the time engine runs at about 1500rpm so completely unstressed
• I’m a keen car enthusiast and look after my cars meticulously. Previously worked at Land Rover independent garage and have done some jobs myself.
• Very good condition inside and out – you’ll struggle to find a better one.
• Full-service history. Oil changed more frequently than recommended.
• Details of every expenditure during my 4½ years of ownership – everything from fuel to any maintenance/repair work done.
• Interior leather regularly treated and is unmarked.
• 2 keys.
• Everything works [see below for exception].

The not so good bits
• High mileage [154k] – mostly motorway usage. Previous owner was golf professional
• Oil level sensor not working [see www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic56693.html ] – I’ve used a dipstick to measure levels. Amount of oil checked when changing oil and no oil used between services.
• Some minor kerb marks on the wheels

Extras:
• Wireless Apple CarPlay
• 2018 21” [best wheel size on the L405] 7001 wheels – including spare
• Electric panoramic roof with electric blind
• Removable towbar
• Rear semi-rigid loadspace liner

Was going to advertise for £12,000, but willing to let it go for a bit less to someone on this forum.

It's been 5 days since you first listed the car, what were you expecting? Very high miles, so a limited market for this car. Need to be patient in waiting for a buyer.

Lovely looking car. I am sure someone will snap it up.

I tend to disagree, high mileages in these cars is very often preferrable to low mileages, as they need to be used and regularly. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Don't see the milage as an issue as long as the stamps are in the book.
If I hadn't just bought a D4 I would be knocking at your door

Price looks very good to me, it would likely help you find a buyer if you could reference any big jobs that have been done. The following are what owners likely expect to experience at your mileage which may be putting buyers off.

Gearbox, diffs and transfer box servicing.
Oil cooler replacement or gasket repair.
Shocks.
Air bags.

GLWS and as others have said, it will likely take a little time to sell. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather

Thanks for the comments.

Gearbox flush done at 100k, diffs and transfer box oils changed, oil cooler replaced last year. Shocks/airbags in good condition.

I agree with RSW, high mileage with a good service history isn't a bad thing.
The price means that somebody somewhere can get in to a Range Rover for not much money.
Would you mind explaining how your Apple Car Play works. The In Car Entertainment in the RR really lets it down

The first time I read the advert I noted that you are a meticulous owner and yet listed below two issues, oil level sensor and some kerb rash on the wheels. I know what meticulous owners are like (I’m not one but have friends that are) and wheels for instance are always pristine.

I’d want to see the drivers seat squab in the photos too.

Jmho.

However, having said that, I love the spec, and I would have been interested when I bought mine in February - i think it’s a very fair price for an L405.

Good luck 👍

The IDCORE Apple CarPlay mod is wireless so when you hop in the car and press the Nav button, your phone is Bluetooth connected and all the Apple CarPlay apps are there, such as Google Maps, Waze, BBC sounds, Audible, Spotify, Phone etc. I did the upgrade so there was no need to update the built in maps, Google maps is always up to date, shows traffic and shows the quickest route to where I needed to go. The system really brings the in car entertainment right up to date.

I do feel like people spending £12k are going to want a working oil sensor. Keep in mind that 90% of folks on the market aren't hands on and going to want to use a bass string to work out their car has oil or not....

Thanks for your comments, and I can understand why some would think that...

I made the decision that as I have a working dipstick, spending £1k on a system that few ever look at didn't seem value for money. I suspect most poeple when buying a SDV8 wouldn't even check whether it worked or not. Current:

The electronic oil measurement is a real faff and anyone coming into RR ownership could be spooked by the “oil level not available” messages even with a working sensor, until to realise how is works and when. Censored Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
