Front seat modules

I have a suspected broken front drivers seat control module.

I have no rake adjust or front seat squab height adjust. Swapping the switch panel with passenger makes no odds.

Swapping the control module with passenger sides means all drivers side switches work but only for a 5mm or so movement for each press of any of the seat switches. Which is better than not moving it at all Which is what I did have.

So why does it only move 5mm with each press, does the module need plugging in and configuring? It works fine when i swap it back to passenger seat.

When the suspected broke drivers seat module is plugged into the passenger seat, nothing works! That bit i dont fully understand!

I have an autel which won't connect on diagnostics to the seat module.

Any suggestions? Currently thinking new seat module just don't know if I need to program it! Cheers

James

5 second use per press is typical of a ECU that isn’t recognised on the CANBUS. That makes sense as I’d imagine the modules have different software versions, even if they are the same hardware number.

That's great to know, thank you for replying. Will get a new module on the way as also means its giving function although limited so motors/actuators all work. Just possibly then need to code new module. Cheers
