The spring is working but the sealing cap under it may not be doing it's job as like mine they go hard over time. I removed the spring and permenantly plugged the hole with a snug fitting self tapping screw and some PTFE tape. The housing doesn't drain when you do a filter change so you just need to suck a bit out before you swop the filter. Looks like you have a leak around the throttle seal ( the green ring in the elbow) which is a common problem as the OE design is poor and many people add additional O rings infront of it to get a better seal. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I just scratched an itch and bought a 2011 4.4TD last month from a guy in London which has done 80k miles. I thought the £15k of engine refurb work including new turbos in recent years was a good thing, but "DPF full take me to a dealer" and limp mode has spoilt the party, just 20miles into a 480miles journey home! TBH the seller turns out to have disappointingly been a geezer. I have been following Georgi's story and feel like I am following him the same rabbit hole (Is your car going OK now? No conclusion in the thread!). My local mechanic who has a Disco4 with EGR/DPF delete said it was reading 67g soot Shocked but he got it down to under 2g. He thought a kinked pipe to DPF could have been the problem. It was fixed, but then 5 miles into a 350mile journey this week the message was back. I just checked the MAF and it looked horrible so the inside of the donut must be the same. The elbow pipe also seemed a bit loose but I dont know if this is enough to cause excess sooting (I cant upload the video). The car goes back to the mechanic tomorrow. What should he be doing according to collective wisdom? High pressure smoke test seems starting point. I definitely want him to clean out the donut too, but what after that? Is the turbo drain modification highly recommended'? 2011 4.4 V8TD Vogue SE

High pressure smoke test and read any fault codes. Donut cleaning is not going to fix anything to do with this issue neither is the turbo drain mod but certainly check the oil filter drainback valve. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thank you all that contributed to this puzzle. At the end after nearly 4 months of tests I resolved to removing the dpf. I did my best effort with the limited time and not having a scan tool myself relying on several mechanics that could not diagnose the issue. Now I am driving the car with pleasure but with a little bitter aftertaste of a failure Wink But whatever, love the car, thank you all. l322 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Black
