I’m currently considering the battery options for my 2007 TDV8 and think I’m going to go for I1 VARTA SILVER DYNAMIC CAR BATTERY 110AH (610402092) (020). The AGM debate for the non stop - start models doesn’t seem to have a clear answer, so the Varta seems to have the power to cope.

I went with the big Exide thinking the AGM element didn't matter, but already the battery is giving me only about 10 mins of stereo after shutdown before it powers itself off. I'm not sure 020 is actually any benefit over the 019 to be honest.

I've been advised the AGM batteries extend the post shutdown useage time, but I've no experience of it myself, but when I come to renew for the winter I'll be getting an AGM type, what brand, depends on the price at the time I have to admit.

@Robert - both Varta and Bosch car batteries are made at the same manufacturing plants, simply buy the cheaper of the two

Today my garage told me to buy Orion...(never heard of) but they should be far better as Varta Silver...and also German.
Looked it up and did not get any orion review. But since the christmas tree is up again (and that with 42° killer degrees out here again ) I will go for another Varta I think but a little higher in A and AH. Tomorrow morning early when it's stil bearable outside.

Just replaced my incorrect battery (god only knows how the car kept going) with a shiny new Varta Silver Dynamic 95Ah 850A 019 battery. 30 minute job (4.4 TDV8), including clearing fault codes, reprogramming the BCM and grinning like a Cheshire Cat at the sound of the starter spinning away at full speed - something I’d never heard the car do before! -------------------------

I changed mine a month after I got the car for an Exide EK950 or EK960 AGM. I have had no starting issues since and I only drive mine at the weekends or when I'm doing my own work during the week. It came it quite a bit cheaper than Bosch and so far so good. The main thing was it fit! Current yokes
