Not sure if it'll be the same as I had recently on my 2004 car, but somewhere to start looking is the wiring loom at the back of the light. Mine had chaffed on the body over time and the wire to the indicator had worn through the sheath to the wire core, so randomly wouldn't work and I'd get fast indicators on the working ones.
Either that or could be water leaked onto he light module under the dash by the bonnet release handle. Pretty easy to remove the module to check it's not showing signs of water damage.
