Next noddy question

My new to me RR L405 (2019) should have keyless entry and gesture boot, but they don’t work and I have to use the key. Can this be turned on and off in a menu? Or is it, as I suspect, part of the security update to remove this convenience?

Probably turned off by the previous owner. This is how to do it on my MY17, which may be the same on your MY.

Not advisable to do that:

I would hope that with the recent security update, the keys living in a faraday bag, separate immobiliser, telemetrics tracker and best of all, armed guards, I should be good. I had my last one for 6 years without issue…until a campervan decided to hit me head on.

If you turn off keyless entry, it almost eliminates possibility of relay theft. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

A statement, however I chose my words carefully. There are some circumstances under which theft of the vehicle can occur with keyless turned off. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

It comes to a point that too much security just gets in the way of using the vehicle. My last Range Rover was fine for 6 years, no car has been stolen from where I live, my keys live in faraday pouches a good 20 meters from the car, it lives behind gates at the back of the house, it’s got a separate immobiliser, a tracker with a card to activate before you drive etc. etc. At work it literally has armed guards so there’s little chance of it being stolen.

And the best thing is, I can turn it off and on in about 3 seconds now I know the trick.

If I lived in a city I’d probably have it turned off at all times, but living in the arse end of the U.K. does have its benefits.
