Probably turned off by the previous owner. This is how to do it on my MY17, which may be the same on your MY.

I would hope that with the recent security update, the keys living in a faraday bag, separate immobiliser, telemetrics tracker and best of all, armed guards, I should be good. I had my last one for 6 years without issue…until a campervan decided to hit me head on. |

If you turn off keyless entry, it almost eliminates possibility of relay theft. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

A statement, however I chose my words carefully. There are some circumstances under which theft of the vehicle can occur with keyless turned off. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8 |

It comes to a point that too much security just gets in the way of using the vehicle. My last Range Rover was fine for 6 years, no car has been stolen from where I live, my keys live in faraday pouches a good 20 meters from the car, it lives behind gates at the back of the house, it’s got a separate immobiliser, a tracker with a card to activate before you drive etc. etc. At work it literally has armed guards so there’s little chance of it being stolen. And the best thing is, I can turn it off and on in about 3 seconds now I know the trick. If I lived in a city I’d probably have it turned off at all times, but living in the arse end of the U.K. does have its benefits. |
