Well I'm glad it's stopped using oil mate but I wouldn't have thought that cleaning the MAP sensor would have solved it. Unless it was over boosting the pressure and somehow the oil was being forced somewhere it shouldn't have been.

@Kevin - but you also had oil needing to be topped up regularly until you cleaned the MAP sensor and it stopped, so far so good for me also

Also for the first time ever in my ownership I got 37 MPG - this was since cleaning the MAP, yes it was mostly motorway and easy cruising at 65mph for the most part, but I was really very happy with that !

I get that the MAP sensor is communicating with the ECU and if the MAP is blocked then the fuel consumption is going to be higher, and that the turbo will probably be driven harder, and maybe this extra load or pressure on the turbo oil seals builds up and oil is out of the seals, or any path of least resistance ( hoses etc ) , but if the MAP is clean and normal service resumes then the turbo ( the primary one ) is barely breaking a sweat when RPM's are less than 1500 for most of the time

How long has it been Kevin since you last cleaned your MAP sensor ?

I think you've misunderstood what was wrong with mine. My filter drain valve had come off it's locating post and that was somehow flooding the intake system with oil. While it was like that my MAP sensor was clean but wet with oil instead of the usual sooty deposits.
Hope yours continues to be Ok.
I cleaned mine yesterday actually and it was completely caked up again. I clean it about every 1500 miles or so. I clean mine with carb cleaner.

After the filter is removed take a look in the housing and you will see what I think is a piece of metal that acts as drain valve that opens when you loosen the filter. When you put the new filter in and tighten it down, the filter presses on it to close the hole. When I did my first oil change this piece was displaced. It attaches on a plastic peg in the housing"

My oil filter drain valve ( being displaced ) is not the problem

Well cleaning the MAP sensor really helped, not getting the oil loss after 1000 miles, just a few drips on the driveway, opened the bonnet again this afternoon after a 200 mile trip and noticed oil where I have circled it Yellow, seems like where I took off the throttle body intercooler pipe and made a better fit with 3 large o-rings (circled in orange), the oil has now found a way to escape more towards the plenum, what would be a quick fix ?

There is an O ring there. It's probably worth replacing. Part number LR022931
