I had a quick look in the search and came across a similar topic which highlighted very good info that access mode should only be selected while the car is moving, great tip, I'd say many don't know this so as usual forum to the rescue!

My question is, what's the consensus on placing the car into access height as you roll into your parking space especially if you are parking up for a week or so. In other words, my RR is a 3rd vehicle so it gets weekend use, a bit like the Disco. Should we be parking these cars with bags in access mode for the health of the system or does it matter? Current yokes

Never heard that before, I always wait till stopped. However, I would advise against changing heights with the brakes (pedal) heavily applied because as height changes so does wheelbase / wheel rotation.

If you change height with the footbrakes on hard you'll get a judder or a jump when you release the brakes as the wheels realign at the new height.

I generally select access height when stopped with the handbrake on, leaving the system to reset to normal as I next drive off, I can't recall ever selecting access height whilst still in motion. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

I drop mine when I'm pulling on the drive so I don't have to wait for it to lower before getting out but always release the parking brake before altering the height up or down so not to put load on the brake shoes.

By all accounts its in the manual in bold text not to put it into access mode while stationary.

Anyways that was a side point that I found interesting, I'm more curious about parking long term with bags up or bags down. Current yokes

This seems odd, as my car will automatically drop to access height when I stop the engine and open the door. Unless I’ve already hit the button before I stop. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

the L405 after 2015'ish has the auto access mode option , the L322 does not.

i cant see any problems using access mode regularly as it keeps the rubber flexible. ... - .- -.

also its worth going into off road occasionally , again to flex the rubbers..

a good tip Craig-meister gave me was when in offroad clean off the caked up mud in the creases.. ... - .- -.

I'm also a big believer in using the bags as you say while washing put it in extended mode and parking put it in access mode

I actually test drove one that the owner never did this and when I extended it there was an air leak and he thought I broke it! Current yokes

The other argument is that constantly rolling the fold will wear the rubber more. My fronts failed predominantly due to age rather than under or over use. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I’ve always dropped the car to access mode before switching off the engine, that’s on my 2 x L320 RRSs, my L322 FFRR and the current L405. All had the odd trip off road too and I’ve never had problems with air suspension on any of those 4 cars.
