United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black
Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto

Hi All,
Has anyone used one of those wireless Carplay/Auto USB adaptors on their RR to save the need for wires?
I have a 2017 with supports the wired functionality but would like to make it wireless in this regard and am looking for pointers...
Thanks in advance 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!
2014 - L405 4.4
2010 - L322 3.6 - Carried me 100,581 miles then broke big-time

Hi there,

Yes, I’ve used several and found the cheaper ones to be “glitchy”, but finally settled on this one from Quad lock, but it’s IPhone-CarPlay only and not Android.

Seems to connect really swiftly and is stable. The only issue I have is that whilst connected to CarPlay, you are forced to make/receive phone calls via the CarPlay app…as opposed to the native RR phone app. Even if you press the Landrover button to return to Landrover Home Screen, the phone aspect stays connected via CarPlay and I prefer the Landrover interface for phone calls.
Otherwise though it works well and I’m pleased with it. L405 2017 TDV6 AB

Thanks Matt, I'll take a look.
Have you played with the phone configuration to see if you can disable the phone functionality on the car-play side of things and retain the standard JLR way of working? 2017 - L405 SC - WOW! just WOW!

Hi Wrecker,
That’s a good idea. I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll try playing around with the settings next time I’m out and about in it and report back. L405 2017 TDV6 AB

I've got one of these in my SVR, it can be a bit clinky sometimes and not connect but 9 times out of 10 it just auto connects and loads up android auto.

1 thing to note though android auto connected wirelessly chews through my phone battery percentage. It's not bad on short trips but anything over 20m I still plug in.

Can't comment on the carplay side.

UPDATE:

Arrived today (in just 1 week), and set up in 5mins, so easy and already very impressed, it seems a real solid quality bit of kit, Apple Carplay works wirelessly 100% perfectly, music quality is tops, and as a bonus, the small module is an absolute perfect fit into the rubberised slot behind the USB ports in the centre console. There is a service email and direct phone number provided for technical support, should you need it. No battery needed, it uses USB power, so “fit & forget”.
I have no connection with this supplier other than as a satisfied customer.
At this level of price & quality, it’s a no-brainer, so I’m giving it 5 stars for dragging my L405 into 2024.

I've noticed a lot of the carlinkit stuff is in the Prime sale today:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/CarlinKitB...f_=ast_bln

I've used there products before without issue.

Have a look at AI boxes. not just wireless adapters. with an AI box you can watch YouTube, which you can't get on CarPlay.

Yes, the one above is a “smart box” does more than just ACP, YouTube, TikTok, Android, etc. check out the link and video on AE.
It performs exactly like the promo video.
