Carlinkit user here, yes, they do work very well, the adapter connects to the phone in 15-30 seconds, then it all depends on your iPhone (or android). I would say there are issues only once every 50-100 connections, but I suspect JLR's infotainment for that, as it's a puny intel micro PC... |

I’m thinking about getting one of these Carlinkit boxes but I can’t find any info about whether or not the rear seat screens are able to display things like YouTube etc?

I would say certainly not. All they do is connect wirelessly to the phone, if the wired connection does not provide RSE, than the adapter won't do it either. |

The page works for me too - my son just got the MMB WJCP-MINI CarPlay Wireless Adapter. I tried it, works fine and it is quicker than the one I have!

I really don’t need wireless CarPlay, it’s more the ability to watch YouTube etc. I had hoped it would allow my grandkids to watch Peppa Pig in the back |

I think it may still be available directly from: https://www.timeknow.store/ This item:
This product has a real Apple-like look, feel, and weight to it, this extends to the packaging and support. 12 months in, with daily use, no complaints, it just works. The new version is an eye-watering price, so snap up the old one (still not cheap) if you can. My only criticism is that it (like the fullfat) takes time to boot up & connect, maybe 30s-1min. I have no issues whatsoever, get in the car, play Amazon music on the phone, and drive off. Less than a minute later it just happens. OTOH, my missus is very impatient, and because it’s not instantaneous, starts stabbing buttons on either the car or the phone (or both) indescriminately, confusing the hell out of both car and device. Any good anger management therapists out there? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
