I had exactly the same issue when I did my front left. Ended up cutting the old sensor off the bracket. Luckily I found bolts to go to the bracket, so fastened new sensor to old bracket with those. The bracket is over £100 from LR… I know as I rang them…. Though I think some aftermarket sensors might come with the brackets which would make the whole job easier… but with this fix, it’s best to stay with LR height sensors if you can.

Same here; 30 mins under the car with a junior hacksaw to cut the sensor off the bracket. TDV8 4.4 2012 |

Still haven't done this yet-think I'll just smash the sensor off with a chisel and then attack the bolts. Any reason why I shouldn't do it this way?? Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey. |

You can just unbolt the bracket with the sensor attached, and then attack it off the car. You need the bracket so don’t damage it. No reason to be faffing about laid on your back etc….

By the way I ended up using a powerfile sander on the bolt heads and 10 mins later it was off. Removing the bracket on the rear is a bigger job, using the powerfile made it a doodle once i got the angle right. Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey. |
