I’m in trouble here

So after being happy that I fixed the fuel gauge issue, l brimmed the tank and the gauge showed full happy days.
But no I had a strong smell of diesel so took a look underneath a saw it was wet with expensive derv.
I took another look at my handiwork and noticed that the diesel was leaking from where I had removed the cap to get to the electrical connections.
The outer ring is tight but the plastic part that the pipes connect to was seemingly a little loose on the gasket.

I tightened it a bit more but it would not seat properly. I now cannot undo the black ring because the whole lot turns.
With another pair of hand though I should get it off, I’m assuming it has got cross threaded.
Stupidly as I was trying to undo it again I did not remove the fuel pipes, the whole lot turned and I have broken one.
Can anyone help with this please?

Do these fitting come separately or do I need to buy a new pipe? If the fittings can be bought separately are they main dealer only parts?

How do they detach from the plastic fuel pipe, would boiling water expand it enough to change the fitting?

If I do need a whole new pipe, where does the other end go to?

Can anyone tell me where the broken pipe goes to at the other end?

You won't get the fittings from the main dealer. The likes of Pierburg do quick connect fuel fittings but you would need to measure and get the correct size also you ideally you need a tool to fit them onto pipes as they need to be pressed into the end squarely although you can DIY with care.
Fittings can be found on Ebay e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222149564454
It would be the straight male type but would need to measure up the old one to get the correct replacement. The pipe would need to be cut off to fit the new quick connect which would shorten it and that might be an issue, easiest option is to really buy a new or 2nd hand pipe.

Looks like that pipe comes in a set of which has all pipes that go from the top of the tank and runs down to connect to the separate fuel pipes that run under the floor to the front.
Looks to be LR part number LR024681 but please do you own check.

There is also a seperate pipe available which looks like your broken one and looks to be LR part number LR025324

I can't see any 2nd hand on Ebay UK at the moment.

Again use a online parts catalogue (such as LRcat.com) or LR dealer to check for correct fitment.

P.S. If not done already then you would need to retrieve the broken off end of the quick connect from the fuel pump.

Many thanks Weejock that is very helpful indeed. I have a working fuel gauge now but messed this bit up.

Also the black ring that locks down the plastic cap is locked solid and leaking where I did not pull it down tight enough, tightened it, made no difference and cannot undo it now. Crying or Very sad

Now I have a non running FFRR over Easter. I have contacted a local indy Wickford 4x4 to see if they can sort it out, so waiting for a call back never used them before.

On a normal car the main fuel pipes would go under the car, is this the case with the RR or do they between two floors for protection when off roading do you know? Dec 2011 L322 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Orkney Grey/Sand leather

Can anyone explain the routing for this broken pipe please? I’m on laying under the car but cannot see where this pipe goes to. There is a big plastic under tray in front of the rear wheels, would the pipe run under here maybe?

I am still struggling with this and have a car off the road right now so will really appreciate any help please.

I am working on my back under the car, but I cannot see where the fuel pipes go to. I suspect the other end of my broken pipe connects to some metal pipes that run the length of the car to the fuel filter.

Can anyone please explain what side the fuels pipes run, driver or passenger?

Where do the plastic pipes connect to the metal ones?

What do I need to remove to gain access to the other end of the broke pipe in my photo?

I am not sure that I can repair the broken connector, but maybe I am wrong?

Hi, have you considered whether you need to replace this pipework at all ?

There's nothing to say that you need to follow the original pipe route if unable to do so. Car makers don't really consider maintenance when they're building because the pipework is one of the first things to go in.

If retaining originality is not your prime concern then I'd consider creating your own route from the tank to the filter, as long as you use suitable materials, a safe route and you don't run it through the inside of the car it's up to you.

Thanks, but the easiest way would I think, be to replace as it is. I am trying to establish where the broken pipe goes to. I can the remove the other end and see what pipe I actually need.
