how bad is a blown fuel pump?! | |
So I went to look at a Westie today with a friend. Its parked up and in bits as is had a fuel pump disintegrate and it damaged the injectors and has put filing in the fuel tank more than likely.
I'm inclined to say to him walk away as he is a mechanic but of classic cars only and doesn't really work on modern cars.
So my question is. If I magically had a new pump, new injectors, flushed the tank and blew out the lines is there anything else that could go wrong with that fix? I think the parts are probably going to be around 3k and that will literally get it started, then its god knows what once you get it moving but realistically it needs brakes, oil pump, starter motor, water pump, belts etc etc...!
This is not a 1k car so I think its madness going at it. Would love to hear your opinion. Current yokes
