how bad is a blown fuel pump?!

So I went to look at a Westie today with a friend. Its parked up and in bits as is had a fuel pump disintegrate and it damaged the injectors and has put filing in the fuel tank more than likely.

I'm inclined to say to him walk away as he is a mechanic but of classic cars only and doesn't really work on modern cars.

So my question is. If I magically had a new pump, new injectors, flushed the tank and blew out the lines is there anything else that could go wrong with that fix? I think the parts are probably going to be around 3k and that will literally get it started, then its god knows what once you get it moving but realistically it needs brakes, oil pump, starter motor, water pump, belts etc etc...!

This is not a 1k car so I think its madness going at it. Would love to hear your opinion. Current yokes

Madness with bells on. If it doesn't run until it's had 3k spent on it what else could you find when it does? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

That's my thinking Jaygee, we all know that a perfect 2012 car will need on going parts and maintenance not to mind one that isn't running and the owner spent too much on the first day.

I personally think its only good for parts/scrap and that not even engine parts, just panels, wheels and interior and that's degrading by the day. Unfortunately my friend is currently thinking with his heart and not his head! Current yokes

I think Ill be going there myself except ill be looking for an L405. We aren't having the insurance issue here so values are still high. Unfortunately for you guys the values sure are getting a hammering. I think the only way I will get a really good deal though is if I buy an original N. Ireland car.

Some day Jaygee!! I cant complain about what I have right now to be fair Current yokes
