It does look a very neat installation.
How does the screen attach to the dash? Is there some sort of frame supplied with the unit.
Thanks

Yes, it comes complete with a frame. You attach the two end trim pieces to the frame and then screw back into existing fixing points.

Thank you for that.
Is it as simple as removing the old unit and plugging the new one in? Is the new unit equipped with the right plugs and connectors to just swap it over?
I imagine you would lose some of the premium hd sound functions like the subwoofer settings. Has anyone fitted one to a car with the HD sound?
Thanks

I seem to be in the same situation as Madnessgonemad, looking to upgrade the headunit on an HD sound car. Is anyone able to confirm that the Aoonav system is effectively plug and play on a 2011 HD sound system car and retains access to the car system and utilises the full HD sound capability.

The HD sound system on the standard headunit seems really good would be great to bring it into the 2020s.

With reference to your concerns about the HD system; apparently when you order from Ali Express they take careful note of your model and spec and provide the relevant cabling. It is different with the HD system but not over complicated.
You would lose the controls for the subwoofer but it’s not exactly brilliant anyway! The CarPlay screen has a graphic equaliser so you can set the sound to your exact preference.
Personally, I already have the set up with a screen set into the dash as in my thread, ( CarPlay for under £100) and have decided to keep it that way. It works brilliantly so it’s a lot of cash for a slight improvement in appearance and I want to keep the Home Screen for dab and radio.
Good luck with yours
