Oil mist debris on radiator

Hi all,

2009 3.6 TDV8 @ 217 000 km / 135 000 miles

I was refilling the windshield washer fluid and noticed that each side of the radiator was wet, and it's oil. Are the hoses just above the wet areas the outlets of the charge air cooler? Am I wrong to think there shouldn't be any oil there..?

I was hoping one of you experts might explain what might be going on here, and what I should do about this.

Best regards,
Olav

It’s common on the 3.6 for the hoses from intercooler to intakes to split so get these replaced ASAP as leaking intake charge can cause the turbo’s to overspin as they try to compensate for the loss of pressure. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thank you, I will definitely check them for a leak and order new ones. But, why the oil? Shouldn't the intake charge be clean as a whistle?

All turbo cars leak some oil vapour from the compressor seals. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I just changed the intercooler hoses on my FF 3.6 TDV8, the old ones did have a smear of oil on the inside, as JayGee says, some oil is nothing unusual after quite a few years of use.
