Afternoon all,
Whilst perusing eBay for parts, I notice that a huge number of them seem to be in Latvia or Estonia.

I can't believe they were the biggest markets for Range Rovers, so I don't understand why they seem to be where all the spares end up.

Any ideas?

Maybe they have a market swamped with cheap Chinese copy imports which they then sell on?

educated guess is that is where stolen FF's end up and stripped down for parts. ... - .- -.

You see a lot of damaged cars (still with their UK plates) on Latvian registered trailers heading towards the channel ports.
There is a Co-Part auction site within 20 miles of Dover.

Not all the parts are "dodgy".

Don't be so judgemental.

There also seems to be a lot of genuine new parts available from at least one Latvian seller, prices are not competitive though, so not sure what the idea is there! L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

I heard the scavenge throughout Europe on selected cars, they don't just take any old scrapper, they're after quality motors they can strip & sell on.

I bet they strip for anything that'll sell and then scrap the rest and move on.

Their weather is worse than ours, so RRs are probably rotting by the roadside whereas most of ours 10 years plus are still going.

I’ve had some decent bits for my old clk from Latvia, or was it Lithuania? Somewhere like that anyway, decent parts at a fair price - seems to be mainly bodywork, trim etc
