I've just noticed that my insurance had the following added to it on renewal - a bit sneaky as it was auto renewed with the expectation that I'd read anything more than the price.....

YOU are not covered under the Loss or Damage section of this POLICY for any loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft unless:
YOUR VEHICLE is fitted with an immobiliser security device conforming to Thatcham Category 1 standard;

Does anyone know whether I already have this as standard on a 2013 ?

It took me a while to figure out TC3 didn't mean Cat 3 - it's on a list of Cat 1 approvals....

Thanks for the heads up, My friends have been insured with the same insurance company for 10 years on an auto renew policy they did not read the changes put to them last year on renewing, their £80k motor home was stolen from their driveway not covered because of no extra security measure's ie: immobiliser and trackers. no pay out  2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

It's naughty, but I'm sure it's in the t&c somewhere when I originally signed up. At least I don't have to spend any more money on top of the huge premium increase.

So does that list mean that all Range Rovers after 2013 aren’t cat 1? ______________________________

I think it says certificate TC3 – 1515/0110 covers 'Range Rover (all models)' for 'Oct 12 – on' which I assume corresponds to L405's - and that they are Cat 1

It's under Jaguar - whereas the L322 seems to be under Landrover and called 'Range Rover 2002'......

Ahh well spotted, I didn’t think to look under JLR  ______________________________
