Centre propshaft bearing!

As I am selling my L322, I put it into my local garage for a full mechanical check to see if any work needed doing prior to sale, and they told me there was some play in the centre propshaft bearing.

Having read the stories on here of it being easier to replace the whole propshaft with something like the GKN I was preparing myself for an expensive bill.

Turns out that so long as your propshaft is in good condition, it's pretty easy to replace. They've done several on L322s before and all it took was 2 hours. Total cost inc parts £180 Inc VAT.

So, if anyone in the South needs their's done, I know a garage in Southampton who will gladly do it at a very reasonable price. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Hi Gary,

Apologies for resurrecting a 7 month old thread but I stumbled across this looking into my symptoms - the car's, not mine!

You mention you had yours sorted in Southampton, which is around the corner from me - would you kindly share who did the work for you and I'll make some calls?

Many thanks in advance!

Sure, BCL. Great, honest garage. I use them all the time.

I think their hourly rate has gone up since, so it will likely be a little bit more now.

I had no symptoms, just when I put the car in for a mechanical inspection, they told me it had gone and wouldn't pass an MOT like that, so I just got it done. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
