P0088-17 - Fuel rail/system pressure - too high - General electrical failure - circuit voltage above threshold (6Cool

Hi, I have this fault which causes restricted performance when the ignition is turned on, before the engine is started. I can clear the code with my GAP IID and the car drives fine.

I've changed the fuel pressure sensor and spliced in the replacement JLR connector to remove the suspect pressure sensor loom connector.

A local specialist have the car at the moment and changed the low pressure fuel pump. This has not fixed the issue.

They now say that the much more expensive high pressure pump needs changing but aren't able to give me a firm reason why they believe this is the case.

If you have any specific test that I or an auto electrician can do please let me know.

Following as mine reads high on live data but obviously not enough to bring up a fault code .

My local specialist seems to have fixed it.

First they tried the low pressure fuel pump under the bonnet. That didn't fix it.

Next they changed the high pressure fuel pump. That has fixed it. I hope it stays fixed as it's taking us to the Italian alps next weekend.
