Keyless entry switch off

Finally got round to switching off keyless entry. Took a few goes until I found one helpful YouTube clip (link below) which said that the key programming procedure needs to happen with three seconds of opening a door. Wish I’d found that out sooner.

Anyway, here’s the exam question. Now that I’ve got keyless switched off, do I need to keep the car keys in a Faraday box at home any more? I realise that there are still all sorts of ways of baddies pinching a car, but specifically on the keyless relay hack that is well-publicised, is this now anything I still need to worry about?

Continue to keep your keys in a Faraday pouch or metal tin.

Whilst keyless entry stops them from unlocking the car, they could still use a relay attack to start the engine after they have smashed the window to gain entry.

And yes, I appreciate there are other other methods to starting the engine. It's always best to reduce risk. Kev

Surely the "keyless entry" is the same as the "Relay" method? It is still the most comm on method that is used to steal L405 etc

Smashed window is a loud alarm, many tea leafs dont want that.
Then there is the visual deterrents, like stop lock and disqlock etc.
And of course a better immobilisers like Ghost 2, etc etc 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
