Range rover Sport 2014 4.4 V8 L494 none start issue !

Good evening all,

my close friend has bought a car recently off eBay as a light front end crashed damaged, when we picked the car up the storey from the guy that owned it was that he had a light crash front end bumper lights job and rad pack, (no air bags went off) so not too bad but repairable, it was advertised as a non runner, when we asked him more about it he said that the car was running after the light crash, it was removed then he claimed on the insurance and then the car went to Copart, he then bought the car back from Copart and then advertised it for sale.

so far me and my friend have plugged in the car and read all fault codes,

fault on car - engine will crank but wont start.
engine runs on brake cleaner in inlet so engine is ok
no pulse from injector when a node light is fitted to the injector plug.

codes are -

P250A-37 Permanent Lin bus A
P062D-11 temporary Fuel injector driver circuit performance (bank 1)
P165D-87 Permanent Active grill air shutter control circuit
P0607-00 Permanent Control module performance

we have a crank speed of 170 RPM on the live data

we have took his ecu reprogramed it with k-tag and put in onto another car and is started fine twice with no issues so its not the engine control module.

we have checked the crank sensor to the ecu and we are getting 70volt signal on the scope.

we have also communicated with all 30 control modules and it will rear live data.

we have disconnected the front n/s headlamp and the Lin bus A code goes away he has changed the headlights on the car with the rad pack and front bumper.

All engine control pin outs seems to be ok and no powers or grounds missing.

we have changed the main battery and programmed.
2nd battery was tested and is ok.
all testing has been done with a good quality battery charger on at all times.

any suggestions are welcome is there anything we are missing or have not checked?

any help much apricated we have been using a snap on and autel diagnostics, we do have access to a SDD but have not yet put that on the car.

In case you check back, P062D-11 will cause a non-start, check for damaged / short to ground on an injector or injector harness. Some injectors don't like mechanical shocks and can fail to ground. quick & dirty test - unplug one at a time (with ignition off!), clear DTC & try cranking, if still not firing, then check the harness with ECM unplugged for mutual short or short to ground.

Thanks for the reply, yes I did think of this but its hard to get at the injectors that why we didn't do it but I think its worth a try especially if there is one that could be shorted to ground, thanks for the help Very Happy Thumbs Up

Found 2 injectors had a short disconnected and injector driver fault has now gone, we still has a none start but cranks, we have no coms on the HS can bus we have found that the BCM Fuse Box when the plug is disconnected we loose the 12v feed down the HS can line to the ECM so our guesses is that we have an issue inside the Fuse Box BCM.

Have you checked it has fuel in it? Copart like to drain the tanks for fire reasons... Worth chucking a couple of cans in it... Thumbs Up

yes it has fuel in it, when I put a node light on the injectors wires it has no pulse so no power going to the injectors form the ECM.

I think we have sorted the injector issue now but the only issue we have now is the High speed can bus issue form the BCM to the ECM we have 12v on can high once we disconnect the BCM plug then the 12v drops out so we are thinking there is an issue with the Can bus chip in the BCM.
