@Luxmoggy:

Try the bar first. I used a small trolley jack under the end of the bar to get a bit more grunt, -of course you can only do that on the Drivers’ side, but on the other side you are pushing down, which is easier.

A 4-post lift is a wonderful thing…… Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Most of the lift-hire places up here in the NE have sadly gone bust in recent years. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I am working in my driveway. I need to clear the garage out.

Happy I have some carpet tiles from when the office was redone. So at least it is dry when I lay down.

I sprayed the bolts again.

Depending on when the Amazon van comes tomorrow. I can try then or it will be Monday. SDV8 AB MY 2020

So most parts and tools arrived today, but raining heavily. So not sure about doing more today.

But I do have a moan to have. I ordered an Ingersoll Rand 2235 QTIMax and what arrived was 2130xp without any tools in the box. Why do shops think they will get away with this? I used PayPal with a delayed payment, so I am safe. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Was watching the videos again about how to do the tasks at hand. Then I started reading the Workshop manual.

In all of the videos, they re-used the Calliper bolts but in the workshop manual, it says about using new ones.

I can see that the new ones from LR have red Loctite (or similar) on them. So other people who have removed their callipers did you use new bolts? SDV8 AB MY 2020

I used my originals with no thread lock applied, my sensors were fine also so I stayed with them as well. overfinch modified

So with the 600mm bar the first calliper is off.

That pad is stuck. Once the rotor is removed, I will bolt the Calliper back on so I can pry that pad out. I hope this means the pistons behind it are ok. I will see.

Now it Sunday quiet time in Germany. So I can’t use a hammer. So sprayed penetrating oil on the rotor. Anything else I can do? If not I will hammer it tomorrow. SDV8 AB MY 2020

When I went back to the car it came loose as I moved the steering to work on the other side. The best news is it was the pad which was stuck, the pistons all moved with my fingers, so I won't need to rebuild
the calliper.

On the other side, the 2 calliper bolts moved with the bar. But the disc bolt is stuck. I have sprayed penetrating oil and will leave it overnight and try again in the morning.

Any suggestions for that? SDV8 AB MY 2020

You mean the disc screw, not bolt?

You defo need a manual impact driver for that, (the hit-it-with-a-hammer type). They are quite cheap.
Don’t try it with a bit in a socket set or you will chew up the screw, then it’s a b*tch of a job! Shocked “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
