Smart key and TPMS system fault 2017 L405

Wondering if anyone can shed light on an issue before I have to resort to stealers?

I was trying to code a new park heater remote to my 2017 l405 autobiography. Pulled fuse 27, reinserted and held off button on remote.

Now I have TPMS error and Smart Key won't recognise (unless held against steering column). Both would be impacted by fuse 27 but the fuse is reinserted and intact.

Anyone seen anything similar??

Fuse 27 where? was the ignition on?
Have you tried locking the vehicle and walking away for 30 mins or so?

Fuse 27 in passenger side fuse box behind the glove box.

Seems to relate to TPMS and Overhead console on a 2017.

Haven't been able to lock due to key not working. I have just used the emergency key in the door lock but doesn't seem to shut the car down like the smart key.

Yer, looking at the sub-circuits, it's also the supply to the RF receiver, are you sure you put the fuse back in the correct position? take the fuse out and see if there are contacts top & bottom of the position, if there is only one contact, it's in the wrong place. I can't honestly recall if the marker is above or below the fuse position, but you wouldn't be the first to get it wrong....
While the fuse is out, check it (ideally with a multimeter) is intact, the 5A fuses can be quite fragile.

Just a question about the TPMS on my 2015 SDV8 autobiography - I have always rotated my tyres on previous vehicles to keep the best tread depth on the off side front which wears the quickest , largely due I am told by roundabouts!
Anyway I realize now that these TPMS units are set to the wheel position transmitting data to the central unit thing so switching the whole wheel will confuse the electronics and could cause over/under inflation problems! In talking to my tyre man he will switch the tyres around keeping the wheels in the same location. I understand these TPMS units last about ten years before needing to be replaced - Genuine JLR ones on e-bay are about £39.00 each others around £14.00 each . They are all reading fine at the moment but as you know when one goes it is best to replace the whole set. I am told the batteries in them cannot be replaced. What advice and experience please would you experts have on this?

you can place any wheel at any position and it will 'read' the pressure...it normally takes around 15 miles to re-calibrate. ... - .- -.

Many thanks - that makes life a lot easier! Would a brand new TPMS unit need to be programmed in or is it automatic ?

Offside front? most tyre wear is nearside front, unless you're in the habit of 'enthusiastically' pulling out of junctions when turning right...
TPMS batteries have a life of 10-14 years but do go into low power mode when parked (the spare will only transmit once every 13 hours). A decent TPMS tool can read the battery levels so you can have an idea of the approximate life left - 'Low' can mean up to 12 months, 'Very Low' means six months or less.
A drive of 20 mins will re-register the existing or new sensors to the four rotating wheels, a replacement sensor in the spare wheel will need registering either by being used as a road wheel for >20 mins or with a suitable TPMS tool / Autologic / SDD.

ETA - if buying new units, make sure they are in 'park' mode, not 'shipping' mode (you'll need to ask the seller) otherwise they'll need to be activated by one of a very few specific models of TPMS tool, SDD / Autologic cannot do it as all genuine LR ones are shipped in 'park' mode from the warehouse and SDD or Autologic do not have a RF transmitter.

Good to know the lifespan of these units . I suppose as they go into low power mode when parked up mileage is also a factor on lifespan . With 80,000 on the clock it is just over 8,000 pa.
