Just playing devils advocate here, I might have read it wrong, but are they not suggesting to use a different part number if you want the features of OE?

they dont tell in any place it is NOT cvd. If you compare reman and new spare parts, you dont find any difference in description clearly tells one is cvd and another is not. Price is the same as new bilstein with cvd. They mention in installation manual "connect plug into the damper"

The only difference I can see is that one comes with the strut top that might have resistor in to stop dash errors when the strut, probably non CVD, is fitted.

There wouldn't be anything wrong with them offering this for those who wanted to 'cheat the system' so to speak, especially if there was a big variable in price. However, they do not state that you lose the VDS setup, and the price is close to a proper Bilstein (especially given what you're missing). Therefore you have to think it's pretty disingenuous behaviour, if not outrightly fraudulent. |

This is crazy. If they're not clearly stating that this is a "cheat" device and will disable the CVD system, it's definitely fraudulent and downright stupid.

especially the price is double if compare to standard shocks. 2,2Ohm, 5W resistor costs less than 0.5 GBP.

I was only speculating given what was posted above about what they advised coupled with the pics. I might be way off…..

Jon G, which side are you after? I've got a near side one. Bilstein, date 2016. |
