Potentially my supercharger is coming off.

Should I replace those coolant pipes that run underneath at the same time or is that not needed?

Anything else?

I would, probably past their best and ideal opportunity to do so at not much cost

IMHO yep change them, bit like if you remove a gearbox from a manual then replace the clutch

Again in my opinion when changing any major component replace any minor components that are uncovered you will not regret it until you don't do it!

There's a rubber hose that runs under the Supercharger which is part of the hoses mounted to the aluminium bracket which is secured to the rear left of the engine as you look at it. If you buy that pipe from Land Rover it was around £300 in 2022. However, the part is made by Gates and is available in a Gates bag for £100 (or it was in 2022!). Rob at Duckworth Land Rover supplied me with the Gates one.

I'd also change the oil in the Supercharger, the water pump, both drive belts and the thermostat.

All of the idlers on the front of the engine are metal pulleys so you can replace the bearings in them. There are 2 pulleys and 2 tensioners, the pulleys unbolt from the tensioners and you can change the bearings in them too. I ordered 4 xSKF 6203-2RSH bearings online and changed all of mine. Cost less then £20 and meant everything was running lovely and quiet.

Whilst you've got the fan and shroud removed I'd probably put a new gasket behind the oil filter housing where it bolts to the front of the block as well.

Thanks David. I have recently had a new water pump, all the pulleys and tensioners as new belts, so I will go with the pipes under the charger 👍

I replaced mine purely whilst I was in there but the old ones looked despite being 15 years old at the time. They’re rubber rather then hard plastic so they don’t go brittle. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Any vac hoses you cannot easily get at should be renewed. Vac leaks cause a lot of problems on vehicles of this age.
