Hi, can someone please tell me if you only need the transponder from the old key to make a new key sync. My new key starts the car and opens the door via key not via the fob. I’ve tried the syncing process many times still no luck. I’ve still got the old key but the buttons are totally worn out. Is there anything contained in the old key that is needed for syncing the new key other than the transponder chip. I’d appreciate any help or advice with this problem. Thank you.

Check out some of the info in these threads, links below, this may help you - You don't need any more bits apart from maybe a device that can clear the key synch address list, as if it's full you cannot synch another key, or the procedure you used was incorrect, the below may help -
