So I decided to replace the rear upper and lower control arms, the reason is because the car seems to feel all the small imperfections in the road and the bushes didn’t look great. I have previously replaced the knuckle bushes but haven’t done the shocks yet, mainly because others have with little results.

Anyway pig of a job due to very little space around the upper arm, one of the issues I had was removing the air spring.

I tried using the GAP tool to deflate the corners, this made the bag softer but it was still full of air and wouldn’t compress, I tried deflating the whole system but had the same result. I left it in place and when I dropped the lower arm the bag extended.

In the end I had to disconnect the bag to get it to deflate fully so I could compress it to get it back in.

I am now wondering if I have a faulty valve block on the rear that’s not fully releasing the air when needed.

Also look at replacing the track control arms which adjust the toe and getting a 4 wheel alignment done afterwards. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

That would be for pattern parts, I imagine Tommy is wanting to use genuine parts...  Pete
