take the battery out of that remote ,put it to one side and use your spare to see if you still have the problem. ... - .- -.

Thankyou gentlemen I don’t wear the Rod Steward trousers anymore they give me an hernia and I have also tried taking the battery out to no avail on both. It’s got me stumped |

Have a look at the switches / wiring behind the physical door (key) lock. If the key is held in the unlock position it still does the global opening, could there have been any water ingress in that area? BMW i3 Electric Car
