L322 Handbrake Cable Removal from Rear Hub

I am just about to change my rear subframe but at a loss on how to remove the handbrake cable from the rear of the hub. I have the workshop manual and have undone to retaining bolt (10mm spanner) but the black plastic unit is still firmly attached to the hub. Not wanting to destroy it is there anyway of releasing it i.e. knocking with a punch from the other side ? The handbrake cable is disconnected on the side of the shoes so I would thought it just comes straight off after removing the bolt ?
