I went for an Exide EK950 Craig.

Tried land rover as per your suggestion but they were no where near unfortunately but always worth a shot so thanks for the tip Very Happy

Your very welcome sir…

However I’ve just checked and the trade on that new JLR battery is 45% so makes it MUCH cheaper to us with accounts. Hence my original post. So, sorry for the confusion… 🙏👍

Just replaced my Aux battery with an Exide EK151 (L405 2014 TDV6 Autobiography). I was hoping this would fix my stop start.

It didn't.

If I charge my battery with the points under the bonnet then it works for about 2 days and stops.

Am I correct in assuming I need to replace my main battery?

I just switch the AUX battery without any issues, will I be ok to just switch out the main battery, or will I get some issues or errors?

Hi Darren,

Mine was the same if I charged the main battery it would work for a few days then quit.

It's sounding like a new main battery may sort yours too.

Ideally you should reset the BMS (battery monitoring system) when replacing the battery but others have not bothered and haven't faced issues.

I reset mine using the IID tool so cannot comment further on the effects of replacing without resetting the BMS.

Hope this helps!

Hello chaps, apologies for the hijack.

I have a 2016 4.4 Autobiography with the auxiliary battery in the panel on the right of the boot.

My S/S has never really worked (twice, after a long run) in the couple of months before be had the car.

Is the smart thinking the main battery is on it's way? I occasionally get S/S unavailable when starting from cold for a few minutes.

I think I'll go for 'replace' as I doubt it has been ever.

mine never worked from picking it up and it never bothered me but when the main battery was getting tired, I replaced both and my SS now works perfectly and I dont find it irritating at all so leave it activated. First time FFRR owner

Finally got around to replacing the battery today. Went for a Yuasa something, something X 9019 as advised on here.

Took me no time at all. Didn't replace the aux battery inside the side panel, will see how I go. The main start stop was the original 2016 battery (I guess) as it was plastered in JLR stickers. If that's the case, I don't think it's done too bad.

I'll report back on whether it has cured the start stop issues.

There was no need to reset anything. Only thing that needed 'resetting' was the boot lids needed to be closed manually. They're working fine now and no warning lights on the dash. Mirrors didn't fold when I locked it, unlocked, opened and closed the door and it's all working perfectly - on my drive!
